46.3 Million On The Road This Thanksgiving Holiday

AAA’s 2014 Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Forecast estimates 46.3 million Americans will travel between Wednesday, November 26th and Sunday, November 30th. 90 percent of those, just under 42 million, will be traveling by car.

42 million people on the road over a five day period means extra caution is needed when driving. The personal injury attorneys at the Hornbuckle Firm suggest:

  • Giving yourself plenty of time to reach your destination
  • Driving the speed limit and adjusting for inclement weather
  • Keeping lights on, even during the day
  • Allowing at least one-car length between yourself and those in front of you

In addition, you can help prevent causing an accident by never:

  • Drinking before you drive
  • Using electronic devices while operating a vehicle
  • Texting or talking on a cellphone

Taking these steps can help ensure you and those you love enjoy a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday.
