Fiat Chrysler Delayed Recall Penalties

By July 6, 2015February 9th, 2017Product Liability

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Thursday that it plans to penalize Fiat Chrysler for delaying recalls on defective and potentially deadly vehicles. In what has become an increasingly troubling trend in the auto industry, Fiat Chrysler declined to take decisive action even after risks of serious injury were known. The NHTSA is investigating 23 recalls it believes were unnecessarily delayed by the auto manufacturer and is considering penalties in excess of $30 million for each discovered violation.

Defective vehicles are a growing concern for American drivers, particularly as auto companies have shown a willingness to sacrifice consumer safety for company profits. This unprecedented greed has resulted in the serious injury and unnecessary deaths of thousands, yet auto manufacturers continue to operate as if their policies of outright negligence are acceptable. They are not. And if you suffer an injury or a loved one is killed due to an auto manufacturer’s failure to recall a dangerous vehicle, you are entitled to seek compensation well beyond the offerings of their insurance companies.
