July 4th Travel Forecast

By July 1, 2015February 9th, 2017Car Accidents

AAA estimates 41.9 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from their homes this Independence Day weekend – a modest increase from last year. Many of these 4th of July travelers will be driving cars, a factor that will certainly increase risks for serious and fatal injury. This makes vigilance and safe driving all the more important as you drive to and from your Fourth of July festivities.

Between the years of 2000 and 2013, July 4th was the deadliest to drive, seeing more fatal car accidents than any other day of the year. While deadly car accidents declined somewhat in 2014, it is still very important to practice caution and use good judgement when driving on this celebrated National Holiday.

Seattle car accident attorney Stephen Hornbuckle wishes you and your family a safe and happy 4th of July and encourages you to take steps that help protect everyone with whom you share the road including:

  • Avoiding distraction
  • Refraining from drinking and driving
  • Obeying all speed limits and roadway signs
  • Keeping a safe following distance both in town and on the highway

If you are injured in a car accident this Fourth of July Holiday Weekend, please contact the Hornbuckle Firm to learn more about your rights. We fight for victims of car accidents in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, and all surrounding areas of Washington.
